How do I get a "white card"  to carry a gun on the job?

1. You must be a licensee or an employee of a licensee (security company) in order to be issued a "Certificate of Completion of Course in Firearm Safety ("the white card").

As an employee, you must already have a basic security work card issued by the  Private Investigators Licensing Board. Click here to learn how to get that card.

2. You must pass a course of instruction in firearms taught by a PILB-approved Certified Firearms Instructor (CFI).  Please call on us for this training service. For details on the course requirements click here.
3. You must provide to the CFI a Verification of Employment for Armed Security form signed by you and your employer.
4. Upon successful completion of the course, a serialized white card will be issued to you by the CFI at the range.  You are now legally set to carry a firearm on duty.
Note 1: You must re-qualify with your duty gun every six months at the range. We offer this training service often, so there's no worry of lapsing with your white card.
Note 2:  You must take a refresher course every 5 years, and re-qualify again with your duty gun then, as well.
